Official Websites to Check Your CBSE Result

CBSE result is available on multiple official websites simultaneously. On result day, all of them get flooded with traffic. Here is the full list — bookmark all of them and try different ones if one is slow:

cbseresults.nic.in
cbseresults.nic.in
CBSE's primary official result portal. Gets the most traffic on result day — expect slowness. Try this first.
Primary
results.cbse.nic.in
results.cbse.nic.in
Alternate official CBSE result server. Often faster than the main portal when traffic is high.
Official
DigiLocker
digilocker.gov.in
Official government document locker. CBSE marksheets are available here — often the most reliable on result day.
Recommended
UMANG App
umang.gov.in
Government app that aggregates CBSE results. Available on Android and iOS. Less crowded than web portals.
App
results.gov.in
results.gov.in
NIC's central results portal. Hosts CBSE results alongside other board results. Good backup option.

Best strategy on result day: DigiLocker is consistently the most reliable because it uses a separate server infrastructure from the main result portal. Set up your DigiLocker account and link your roll number before result day so you can access your marksheet instantly when results are declared. See our complete DigiLocker guide for setup instructions.

Step-by-Step: How to Check Your CBSE Class 10 Result

Method 1 — cbseresults.nic.in (Web)

1

Open cbseresults.nic.in

Go to cbseresults.nic.in on your phone or computer browser. On result day, try opening it right at 2:00 PM — the first few minutes are often the least congested before news spreads.

2

Click "Class X Result 2026"

The homepage will show a link for Class 10 (Secondary) result. Click it. If the page is slow, wait — do not refresh repeatedly as it makes the server slower for everyone.

3

Enter your Roll Number and School Number

You need two things: your 7-digit Roll Number and your School Number (also called Centre Number). Both are printed on your CBSE admit card. Keep your admit card ready before result day.

4

Enter the date of birth or captcha

Some result portals ask for your date of birth as a security check. Enter it in the DD/MM/YYYY format as shown. Complete any captcha verification shown.

5

View and save your result

Your result will appear on screen showing subject-wise marks, grades, and overall pass/fail status. Take a screenshot immediately. The official digital marksheet comes through DigiLocker — the result page is not your official document.

Method 2 — DigiLocker (Recommended)

1

Open DigiLocker and log in

Go to digilocker.gov.in or open the DigiLocker app. Log in with your mobile number and 6-digit security PIN. If you have not set up DigiLocker yet, see our DigiLocker setup guide.

2

Go to "Issued Documents"

After logging in, click on "Issued Documents" in the menu. CBSE pushes your marksheet and pass certificate directly to your DigiLocker account — you do not need to search for it manually.

3

Find CBSE Class 10 Marksheet

Look for "CBSE" or "Secondary School Certificate" in the issued documents list. Tap it to view your official marksheet with all subject marks, grades, CGPA, and result status.

4

Download the PDF

Tap the download icon to save the marksheet as a PDF. This PDF is legally valid and accepted by schools for Class 11 admission — you do not need to wait for the physical marksheet.

How to Read Your CBSE Class 10 Marksheet

Your CBSE marksheet contains more information than just marks. Here is what every section means:

📄 CBSE Class 10 Marksheet — Section by Section
Student Name
Your full name as registered with CBSE. Check this carefully — errors need to be corrected officially.
Roll Number
Your unique 7-digit CBSE roll number for this exam. Used for all future CBSE correspondence.
Subject Marks (Theory)
Your marks out of 80 in the board exam for each subject. This is what you scored in the written exam at the exam centre.
Subject Marks (IA/Practical)
Your internal assessment marks out of 20, awarded by your school. Theory + IA = Total out of 100 for each subject.
Total Marks
Theory + IA combined, out of 100 per subject. Minimum 33 out of 100 is required to pass each subject.
Grade
A1 (91–100) down to D (33–40) for pass, E for fail. Assigned using CBSE's 1/8th positional grading — see our grading system guide.
Grade Point
A1=10, A2=9, B1=8, B2=7, C1=6, C2=5, D=4. Used to calculate CGPA.
CGPA
Cumulative Grade Point Average — average of your best 5 subjects' grade points. Maximum is 10.0. Multiply by 9.5 for approximate percentage.
Result Status
PASS, COMPARTMENT (failed 1–2 subjects), or ESSENTIAL REPEAT (failed 3+ subjects). Compartment means you can appear for the supplementary exam.
Qualifying Status
Whether you qualify for Class 11 admission. "Eligible for Admission to Class XI" appears if you passed. Compartment students see their specific subject failures listed.

Check for errors immediately. If your name, date of birth, or marks appear incorrectly on the marksheet, contact your school within the first week after results. CBSE has a correction window after results — missing it means a longer and more complicated correction process.

What to Do Immediately After Results

The first 30 minutes after seeing your result are the most important. Here is exactly what to do in order:

  1. Screenshot your result from the website immediately — pages sometimes go down or show errors later
  2. Download your DigiLocker marksheet as a PDF — this is your official document for admissions
  3. Calculate your exact percentage using our Best of 5 Calculator — do not rely on the CGPA × 9.5 approximation for school applications
  4. Check your grades against stream eligibility requirements using our Stream Eligibility Calculator
  5. If you got a compartment, visit your school the next working day — the application window is short
  6. If you want re-evaluation, check the deadlines immediately — they typically open within a week of results

For a complete post-results action plan — stream selection, re-evaluation process, compartment exam, and TC/migration certificate — see our Results Day Complete Guide.

Common Problems on Result Day and How to Fix Them

ProblemCauseFix

"Roll number not found" Results not yet live for your region, or typo in roll number Double-check roll number from admit card. Wait 15 minutes — CBSE releases results region by region sometimes.
Marks look wrong Evaluation error, or IA marks not updated by school Contact your school immediately. Apply for verification of marks within the deadline. See our re-evaluation guide.
Name or DOB incorrect Registration error or data entry mistake Contact your school the same day. They submit correction requests to CBSE. Early reporting gets faster resolution.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will CBSE Class 10 result 2026 be declared? â–ŧ

CBSE has not announced the official result date for 2026 yet. Based on previous years, Class 10 results are typically declared in the second or third week of May. CBSE announces the date on cbse.gov.in a few days before declaration. Results have consistently come out around 2:00 PM on the announcement day.

Which is the best website to check CBSE result without server issues? â–ŧ

DigiLocker is consistently the most reliable on result day because it runs on a separate infrastructure from the main CBSE result portals. Set up your DigiLocker account before result day, link it to your roll number, and your marksheet will appear there automatically when results are declared — without you having to fight slow servers.

Is the result on cbseresults.nic.in the official marksheet? â–ŧ

No. The result on cbseresults.nic.in shows your marks and pass/fail status but it is not your official marksheet. Your official marksheet is the digitally signed PDF available on DigiLocker. Schools accept the DigiLocker PDF for Class 11 admission. The physical marksheet is issued later through your school.

What documents do I need to check my CBSE result? â–ŧ

You need your CBSE Roll Number (7 digits) and your School Number (also called Centre Number) — both printed on your CBSE admit card. For DigiLocker, you need your registered mobile number and DigiLocker PIN. Keep your admit card accessible on result day.

What does "Compartment" mean on the CBSE result? â–ŧ

Compartment means you failed in 1 or 2 subjects (scored below 33 out of 100 combined in those subjects). You are eligible to appear for the CBSE Compartment Exam held in July — a second attempt at those specific subjects. Passing the compartment exam gives you a full pass certificate. See our Compartment Exam guide for the full process.

Can I use my CBSE result for Class 11 admission before getting the physical marksheet? â–ŧ

Yes. The digitally signed marksheet from DigiLocker is legally valid and accepted by CBSE-affiliated schools for Class 11 admission. You do not need to wait for the physical marksheet. Download the PDF from DigiLocker and use it directly for admission forms.

My marks seem lower than expected — what should I do? â–ŧ

First verify the marks carefully against what you expected. If there is a genuine discrepancy, CBSE offers three stages of review — marks verification, photocopy of answer sheet, and re-evaluation. Each has a deadline that opens within days of results. See our detailed re-evaluation guide for fees, deadlines, and step-by-step process.
